Foreperson - Civil Utility Underground

**About the role**:

- Supervise daily activities of underground utility crews (operators, pipelayers, laborers)
- Plan, organize, and execute work related to watermain, sanitary, storm, and service installations
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and utility locates
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety plans
- Coordinate with project management, inspectors, engineers, and utility authorities
- Ensure proper shoring, trench safety, dewatering, and excavation practices
- Manage productivity, manpower, equipment, and materials on site
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce safe work practices
- Monitor quality control and ensure installations meet municipal and project standards
- Complete daily reports, time tracking, and as-built documentation
- Identify and resolve site issues, conflicts, and constructability challenges
- Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas
- Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Superintendent

**About you**:

- 5+ years of experience in civil underground utility construction
- Proven experience in a Foreman or lead hand role
- Strong knowledge of underground utility installation methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings
- Knowledge of trench safety, shoring systems, and excavation regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project schedules
- Valid driver’s license
- First Aid, WHMIS, and relevant safety certifications (asset)

**Work Environment**
- Outdoor construction sites in varying weather conditions
- Physically demanding work environment
- May require extended hours to meet project deadlines

**Salary Range**:
$40-55
