**Overview**
The Behavioral Interventionist plays a crucial role in supporting children with behavioral challenges and developmental disabilities. This position involves working closely with children, families, and educational staff to implement effective behavioral strategies and interventions. The Behavioral Interventionist is responsible for fostering a positive environment that promotes the well-being and development of each child.

**Duties**
- Assess and evaluate children's behavioral needs through observation and data collection.
- Develop individualized behaviour intervention plans tailored to each child's unique requirements.
- Implement therapeutic techniques and strategies to promote positive behavior changes.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
- Monitor progress and adjust intervention plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress reports.
- Implement ABA therapy in 1:1 setting including DTT and NET in the homes of the clients.
- Monitor child’s progress through data collection and graphing.
- Provide parent training, education, and support services.
- Collaborate to develop individual and/or group goals and strategies.
- Identify additional service needs as appropriate and assist family in accessing services.
- Provide modeling techniques and strategies for parents
- Communicate with the Behaviour Consultant as well as parents on an on-going basis
- Adhere to company policies and procedures

**Skills**
- Strong understanding of patient care principles, particularly in pediatric settings.
- Proficient in data collection methods to track behavioral changes effectively.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to child development and behavioural health.
- Experience working with children with Autism and Special Needs, particularly those with special needs or in special education settings.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Adhere to all clinical training, procedures, and protocols
- This position requires a compassionate individual dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children facing behavioral challenges.

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements
- 2 year of experience of working and teaching children with special needs (Autism included).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends (until 7pm and occasional Saturdays if required)
- A College Degree or Diploma or pursuit of a University Degree in a related field.
- ABA/Autism-related Diploma/Certificate is an asset. (RBT, BCaBA, pursuing BCBA designation)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Eager to learn
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months
- First aid and CPR trained

Pay: $32.33-$42.33 per hour

Expected hours: 28 - 45 per week
