**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Baking & Production**:

- Prepare and bake a variety of products, including cookies.
- Follow recipes and instructions precisely to ensure consistency and quality in all products.
- Scale and mix ingredients to produce batters, doughs, and fillings.
- Monitor and maintain ovens, mixers, and other baking equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Work with a variety of ingredients, including flours, yeasts, sugars, butter, chocolate, and other specialized products.
- Decorate cakes, pastries, and other baked goods with icing, frosting, glazes, and garnishes.
- Ensure that products are baked to the correct temperature and texture.
- **Quality Control**:

- Conduct regular checks on the quality of ingredients and products to ensure freshness and quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of baking area, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Check products for proper texture, color, and appearance before packaging or displaying for sale.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including food handling and sanitation procedures.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Assist in tracking inventory levels for baking ingredients and supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Notify the manager when supplies are running low or need replenishing.
- Receive and inspect deliveries of ingredients and materials.
- **Customer Service**:

- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner when required, especially during peak times.
- Assist in packaging products for customers and ensure a high standard of presentation.
- **Team Collaboration**:

- Work closely with other bakers, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team to ensure smooth operations throughout the bakery.
- Train and mentor new baking staff when necessary.
- Assist with maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- **Equipment Maintenance**:

- Ensure that all baking equipment is maintained and cleaned regularly.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the manager in a timely manner.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Experience**:

- Proven experience as a baker, pastry chef, or in a similar role is preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient functions, and kitchen safety procedures.
- Ability to work with various baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofing machines.
- **Skills**:

- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Creativity and innovation in decorating and presenting baked goods.
- **Physical Requirements**:

- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in a warm kitchen environment.
- Manual dexterity to handle delicate dough and pastry items.
- **Certifications**:

- Food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Any relevant culinary certifications are a plus.
