Manager, Enterprise Architecture

This position will require a minimum of 40% presence at the NRC work location identified in the form of a hybrid work arrangement (a combination of working onsite and offsite).

Reporting to the Director, the incumbent is responsible for the management, operation and leadership of the Enterprise Architecture group and the delivery of its services.

The Manager is also responsible for the establishment and implementation of the Enterprise Architecture Program, specifically those related to IM and IT services supporting a complex Research Technology Organization (RTO).

**Key Activities**:

- Leads and directs the definition and evolution of NRC’s Enterprise Architecture framework and practices, focusing on an agile aproach that provides tangible contributions to enterprise level architectural decisions.
- Manages the employees of a unit comprised of technical architects and business analysts. This work includes providing direction, training and guidance; setting objectives, goals and priorities; assigning areas of responsibility; developing work, training and professional development plans as well as employee assessments against these plans.
- Manages the provision of expert technical advice and guidance to clients on current and required technical changes to IT architectural frameworks, standards, plans and designs.
- Manages the provision of expert business analysis services to clients in support of defining business requirements, challenges and opportunities as well as exploring and presenting solution options.
- Represents the NRC’s Enterprise Architecture program on internal and inter-departmental meetings and committees and manages the exchange and sharing of artefacts between NRC and central agencies.

**Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Information Systems.

**Experience**:

- Significant experience managing or delivering enterprise architecture services.
- Extensive experience in the IM/IT field, including areas such as systems analysis, systems implementation, networking, cloud, cybersecurity, information and data management, etc.
- Significant experience in identifying information or technology needs that could address policy, program and organizational needs.
- Significant experience in designing and/or implementing an IM/IT architecture for a department.
- Significant experience in advising senior management on the strategic planning.
- Significant experience in the supervision and direction of staff or in a leadership role.
- Experience working in a research-based organization would be a significant asset.

**Competency Profile(s)**:
**Compensation**:
From $103,919 to $126,025 per annum.

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.

An incumbent occupying a position within the CS Group is currently entitled to receive a terminable allowance of $248 per month.
