THE OPPORTUNITY

The Facilities Assistant is an essential role in our core team at Tantalus’ SunLab facility in Maple Ridge, B.C. They are responsible for executing maintenance related to greenhouse and warehouse facility infrastructure, equipment, and security systems. Tantalus operates a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, and dynamic environment that seeks to sustainably produce the highest quality cannabis possible.

Starting wage for this position $17 - $20 per hour depending on experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in development of a preventative and proactive maintenance plan;
- Take responsibility for matters pertaining to the building envelope and property, e.g. cleaning building exterior on a schedule, parking lot maintenance;
- Work with Facilities & Systems Coordinator to maintain and repair facility equipment, structures and systems, such as HVAC, Irrigation systems, security, and processing equipment;
- Support and manage specialist contractors as required;
- Assist with facilitation of garbage collection and disposal;
- Accept and document packages and deliveries made to the facility and store items received in appropriate storage areas;
- Assist with interdepartmental equipment inventory and commissioning.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving abstract;
- Proficiency with technology an asset (Google Suite Applications, and Mac or Chrome OS);
- A professional, courteous and mature demeanor;
- Pallet jack / stacker experience an asset;
- Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication and present a flexible and adaptable approach to work assignments;
- Be highly organized with exceptional time management skills;
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Working outdoors in all weather conditions and/or within a climate controlled greenhouse or enclosed trimming room;
- Physically demanding work including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting;
- Working in an environment that has pollen and other plant materials in the air.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Be physically able and willing to lift and carry boxes and equipment that may weigh 9-22kg (20-55 pounds).
