Pipeline Integrity Technician

Trans Mountain operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 300,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta and British Columbia, and 111 kilometres of pipeline in Washington state.

This position is responsible for ensuring effective functioning of the field operations of the pipeline integrity program for TMPL and Puget Sound. The position plays a central role in the completion of field portion of the TMPL integrity program. Trans Mountain Integrity Technicians perform both pipeline integrity work and inspection duties.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate’s timing and logistics for the integrity digs;
- Oversees NDE and anomaly assessments - work with Technical Services to determine repair methods. Performs Non-Destructive Testing (UT, MPI) on facilities;
- Oversees temporary and permanent pipeline repairs (sleeve installation, etc.);
- Oversees civil construction activities (excavation, compaction, and backfilling work) to ensure compliance with all applicable standards, procedures, and regulations;
- Coordinates NDE activities for Cathodic Protection asset installation and maintenance;
- Inspection of in-service welding activities; and
- Provides emergency response capabilities to Right of Way locations.
**Qualifications and Professional Requirements**:
- High School completion;
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in related field;
- AMP Certification: CIP level 1 and or CIP level 2 inspector certificate recommended;
- CWB : CSA W178.2 welding inspector certification level 1 recommended;
- Canadian Standards Association Z662 training and Corrosion Control certification is preferred;
- Class 1 Drivers License is preferred;
- Ultra-Sonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection CGSB I (limited) certification preferred;
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets and employees, and the general public;
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude;
- Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with mínimal supervision;
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Attention to detail is critical;
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; and
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

In British Columbia, the system crosses the traditional territories of numerous First Nations that are affiliated with the Secwepemc, Dakelh (Carrier), Nlaka'pamux, Syilx/Okanagan, Interior and Coast Salish, Stó:lo, as well as the Métis.
