GBS Technologies is an independently owned and operated Wireless & IT Solutions Company operating in Atlantic Canada. Our IT Solutions provide small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with End-to-End IT services. We are expanding our team by seeking an IT Specialist to support, onboard, and maintain the systems of our clients.
We are looking for an individual who has a strong background working in environments that are client-facing, open to collaborating with colleagues, willingness, and ability to continuously learn new things and retain what has been learned, has competency in understanding IT systems, is empathetic, and is a strong communicator.
**About the Job**:
Ø **Collaborate**
- With the assistance of development and support teams, ensure seamless integration and performance of services.
- A team-oriented commitment to inclusive working environments.
- Support Tier 2/3 support for cloud infrastructure issues.
Ø **Implement**
- Backup, disaster recovery, and security best practices.
- Configure, deploy, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
Ø **Monitor**
- System performance and ensure high availability and security of the infrastructure.
- Identifying potential issues and proactively proposing solutions and improvements.
Ø **Maintain & manage**
- Administer and maintain Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, and storage.
- Manage identity and access using Azure Active Directory and Group Policies.
- Manage the Azure platform.
- Provide documentation and technical support for cloud-based systems.
Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with established standards and policies
**Qualifications Include**:
- 5+ years of experience in system administration with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
- Proven experience with Azure services, including VMs, AVD, Azure AD, and networking.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Having the ability to set up, configure server hardware, and switchover servers
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and Azure CLI.
- Familiarity with Intune, Endpoint Manager, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline preferred
- Holding Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or equivalent certificate is an asset
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert: Confirms skills in designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure is considered an asset
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
- Ability to provide detailed documentation, Assessment and reports on IT services and solutions
- Bilingual in French and English not required but considered an asset.

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
