**Essential Duties and responsibilities**
- Disability Case Management -Manage and administer claims following work related, or non-work-related injury/illness and working with EHS Manager and HRBP implement best practices for timely and safe return to work (RTW)
- Recruitment of all Lunenburg unionized positions, including temporary employees
- Day to day support of Lunenburg plant employees in terms of providing advice to supervisors on performance, compliance, benefits, collective agreement, etc.
- Maintains the HRIS with regards to new hires, terminations, job changes, salary changes etc. Ensure that all approvals are completed prior to making any changes in the HRIS.
- Work with the HRBP to develop employee recognition and social programs to increase employee engagement
- Plans and conducts new employee orientations
- Support/Organize Employee Events
- Coordinate training programs
- Develop and support the unionized performance assessment process (both for probationary employees and full-time annual reviews)
- Manage the communication of general employee communications and policies and procedures in the Lunenburg Operations.
- Manage and provide advice to Coaches/Managers throughout the discipline process
- Ensure that confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
- Contribute to a positive and harassment-free working environment that provides fair and equitable treatment for our employees.
**Qualifications**
- Post secondary education (University degree preferred)
- 2-5 years experience in HR, preferably in a unionized environment.
- CHPR Designation preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with HRIS system (preferably Ultipro)
- Commitment to growth and development
- Innovative and Continuous Improvement mindset.
- Ability to work with all levels of management and production
- Superior interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player
- Ability to meet necessary deadlines, producing high quality, accurate work.
**Working conditions**
Office Environment:
The noise level in the office work environment is moderately quiet.
Plant Environment:
The plant work environment will expose the employee to loud noise, food grade dust & odors, moving & vibrating machinery, heavy equipment, powered industrial trucks, heights, traffic, anhydrous ammonia, oil and electricity.
**Physical requirements/Allergens**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, listen, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to use hands to handle, operate, and feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to operate a motor vehicle to travel to off-site meetings. The employee must have visual acuity sufficient to operate a motor vehicle and digital camera, as well as other office and position equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to hear and speak clearly in order to communicate with clients, coworkers, employees and vendors.
