**Scope**:
Technology and Innovation requires Information Technology (IT) professional resource to provide a Senior Business Analyst to support the delivery of 3-Year Strategic Roadmaps and associated business cases, for each Government of Alberta (GoA) department, that will identify what is required to modernize GoA service delivery.

**Project**:
Work on a team to develop strategic roadmaps, business cases, opportunity cards, and new opportunity intakes for each department within the GoA. Work would include the following:

- Identify and review strategic opportunities for placement on the 3-year strategic roadmap.
- Work with strategic roadmap team and stakeholders to develop 3-year strategic roadmap.
- Work with strategic roadmap team and stakeholders to develop opportunity cards.
- Work with strategic roadmap team and stakeholders to develop business cases.
- Work with strategic roadmap team and stakeholders to develop opportunity intakes.
- Work with strategic roadmap team and stakeholders to develop Treasury Board and Finance submissions.
- Work closely with strategic roadmap team and stakeholders to coordinate workshops and develop required documentation.
- Leverage scrum and other agile approaches to facilitate cross-team delivery.
- Facilitate and/or participate in workshops and roadmap sessions.
- Support the strategic roadmap lead.

**Duties**:
The deliverables/artefacts to be produced include but are not limited to the following list.
- Lead and/or participate in consultations and facilitate stakeholder meetings.
- Create business requirements, opportunity cards, business cases, and other functional or technical specification documents.
- Assist in identifying new IT services.
- Schedule, organize, and lead status meetings and other meetings as required.
- Provide support by bridging communication between vendors, client ministries, and corporate technical and business teams.
- Escalate unresolved issues/risks, options, and recommendations.
- Responsible for development of key strategic roadmap documents.
- Prepare, update, and manage documents defining the business requirements and opportunities.
- Prepare regular project status reports indicating project deliverables, possible risk/issues, timelines, and anticipated effort.
- Ensure appropriate project communication occurs to all parties involved during all phases of the project.
- Identify required user training.
- Additional responsibilities as required by the Project Manager for a Business Analyst or Lead Technical Analyst role.
- Support development of project deliverables including requirements gathering and documentation to meet project milestones. Support project management status and financial reports and schedules as required.

**MUST HAVE**

**The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following**:

- University graduation in business, management or a related discipline and four-year Technical Business Analyst (BA) experience; OR**:

- Two-year diploma in business, management or a related discipline and six-year BA experience; OR**:

- One-year certificate in business, management or a related discipline and seven-year BA experience; OR**:

- Eight-year BA experience**

**WORK EXPERIENCE**:

- Experience as a business analyst translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements in an enterprise IT environment.
- Experience in developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements.
- Experience in facilitating and managing business process development and process re-engineering workshops and sessions.
- Experience in gathering requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders across ministries or departments.
- Experience with written and verbal communications including specific experience in drafting strategic business and technical documentation.
- Experience in facilitating meetings and communicating with senior management and project stakeholders.
- Experience in the design, development and implementation of complex IT solutions.
- Experience in the development of project documents for a wide variety of initiatives and projects (strategic, business improvement, information technology, etc.).
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing processes on large, complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Experience working in or for the public sector.
- Experience working within an agile development environment.

Pay: $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.25 per week
