- A PhD degree preferred in Landscape Architecture, or terminal degree in Landscape Architecture with a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in pursuing effective landscape architectural outcomes through leadership, collaboration and innovative design.
- Demonstrated ability to raise funds for research and development projects from private and public sector granting agencies;
- Established record of publication (creative works included) in interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journals;

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD)

Part of the Ontario Agricultural College, SEDRD reflects the imperatives in building authentic communities where landscape architects, leaders, communicators, planners, citizens and politicians all play important interdependent roles in community strength. The faculty strive to create a work environment that emphasizes a cooperative, collegial approach to teaching, research and outreach. SEDRD offers the following programs: Bachelor of Landscape Architecture; Master of Landscape Architecture; MSc and MPLAN in Rural Planning & Development; MSc in Capacity Development & Extension; and PhD in Rural Studies having a focus on sustainable landscape systems and sustainable rural communities. The school currently supports several other programs in the College and at the University with several focused courses on design, communications, planning, sustainable communities, environment, and recreation and tourism.
