**Job Description** Role Summary**:
**Job Title**: HR Manager (16-Month Contract)
**Division**: Universal Filmed Entertainment Group
**Reports to**: Sr. Director, HR
**Location**: Toronto, Canada
The Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG) HR team in Toronto is looking for a **Human Resources Manager** responsible for providing day-to-day HR support at all levels. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to provide strategic Human Resources support for various divisions within UFEG Canada, operate as a thought partner and offer input into organization design, manage employee relations issues, facilitate performance management, ensure a robust talent pipeline and all other HR initiatives.
**Responsibilities**:
- Operate as a business partner providing HR guidance/expertise and demonstrating deep understanding in HR practices, the business operations, and other related areas - acting as main point of contact for all recruitment, benefits, payroll, and employee engagement
- Manage the execution of key HR initiatives, including performance management, organization planning, compensation planning, and learning and development
- Interpret and implement HR policies, practices and procedures for managers, teams and individual employees (including vacation, parental leave, etc.)
- Partner closely with leaders to understand dynamics and key business priorities of client groups; provide coaching to business leaders on effectively managing and leading their teams including: employee engagement, retention, compensation, employee relations matters and organizational structuring and career development to create an empowered workforce
- Advocate and offer feedback and guidance to employees regarding work-related issues and resolve issues in a proactive and compassionate manner
- Partner with NBCU HR community to work collaboratively across HR matrix and wider HR agenda in a productive, team-oriented way
- Manage performance, corrective action and integrity issues in collaboration with HR and legal counsel
- Member of the Health and Safety Committee in maintaining and developing practices to assess potential health and safety hazards and implementing plans on-site to enforce Ministry of Labour regulations
- Lead employee recognition programs and service awards to ensure alignment with corporate values
- Provide direct management of a Payroll Assistant
- Be a values and culture champion. Support the development of a culture that ‘thinks global and acts local’, as well as drive DE&I efforts ensuring a culture where every employee can thrive and encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities
**Qualifications** Basic Qualifications**:
- 5+ years of relevant HR experience including supporting an active and fast paced employee population
- 3+ years leading a variety of HR functions, including, but not limited to performance management, compensation planning, organizational development and recruitment
- Bachelor’s degree in related field is a plus
**Eligibility Requirements**:
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
- Must be 18 years or older

- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate and work with employees at all levels required
