Job Description:
The Physician Assistant (PA) at CHEO works alongside the physician in the Emergency Department to provide care to the patients requiring these services. The PA integrates the skills and knowledge from medicine practice. The PA functions both autonomously and in collaboration with physicians and other health care providers to manage, in a comprehensive manner.

Working closely with the Emergency Interdisciplinary team, the physician assistant will participate in the management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department and will be involved in teaching and medication/treatment management.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
- Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant Program (Essential)
- Previous experience in related field (Essential)
- Current appropriate level of life-support training (e.g., BCLS) (Essential)
- Experience in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (Essential)
- Ability to function collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and practice in a self-directed manner (Essential)
- Demonstrated excellent leadership and organizational skills (Essential)
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to participate as a member of interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrates creativity, innovation, flexibility and initiative
- Sound conflict resolution skills and problem-solving abilities
- Sound crisis management skills (Essential)
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job (Essential)
- Bilingualism (English and French) (preferred)

L’adjoint ou adjointe au médecin de CHEO travaille aux côtés du médecin du service des urgences pour fournir des soins aux patients qui ont besoin de ces services. L’adjoint ou adjointe au médecin travaillera en étroite collaboration avec l’équipe interdisciplinaire d’urgence, participera à la prise en charge des patients qui se présenteront au service des urgences et participera à l’enseignement et à la gestion des médicaments/traitements.
- Vérification des antécédents en vue d’un travail auprès de personnes vulnérables (Essentiel)
- Diplômé(e) d’un programme reconnu des adjoints au médecin (Essentiel)
- Expérience antérieure dans un domaine connexe (Essentiel)
- Niveau approprié actuel de formation de soutien à la vie (par exemple, BCLS) (Essentiel)
- Expérience en médecine d’urgence pédiatrique (Essentiel)
- Capacité de collaborer dans une équipe interdisciplinaire et de pratiquer de manière autonome (Essentiel)
- Excellentes compétences démontrées en leadership et en organisation (Essentiel)
- Capacité de communiquer efficacement oralement et par écrit
- Capacité de participer à titre de membre dans une équipe interdisciplinaire
- Faire preuve de créativité, d’innovation, de flexibilité et d’initiative
- Bonne compétence en résolution de conflits et de problèmes
- Bonnes compétences en gestion de crises (Essentiel)
- Capacité physique d’exécuter les tâches liées à l’emploi (Essentiel)
- Bilinguisme (anglais et français) (Préférable)
