Dr. Fahad Alkherayf is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join his dynamic team. The PA will be based on-site at The Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus, primarily in the outpatient neurosurgery clinic during weekday daytime clinical hours. The PA will provide comprehensive patient care to patients with Neurosurgical and Spine conditions, collaborating closely with Dr. Alkherayf and his team. The PA will also work closely with Neurosurgery Residents, Nurse Practitioners, and Administrative Assistants.

Duties and Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

- Conducting patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
- Assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological, spine disorders and conditions.
- Obtaining and interpreting patient imaging studies as well as laboratory tests.
- Monitoring post-operative patients and managing follow-up plans in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Educating patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-operative care.
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and departmental rounds to discuss patient progress and treatment options.
- Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) and/or American Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Current member of Canadian Association of Physician Assistants.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Familiarity with using electronic medical record systems.

**REMUNERATION DETAILS & TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Salary: $90,000 -$98,000 - dependent on qualifications and experience.

Neurosurgery is a regional service providing tertiary and quaternary level care to patients from other regions of the province and plays an essential role in the support of other regional programs including cardiac/stroke, trauma, ENT/Head & Neck, and neuro-oncology. The Ottawa Hospital is a 1150 bed tertiary-care hospital serving Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec at four inpatient sites (Civic, General, Heart Institute and the Rehabilitation Centre) and one ambulatory centre (Riverside). There are approximately 50,000 inpatient admission, 160,000 emergency visits and over one million outpatient visits annually.
