- As the Leader, Safety Experience you will advance the organization's overall occupational health and safety (OHS) performance by evaluating the effectiveness of occupational health and safety programs, policies, and practices. You will provide leadership in corporate occupational health and safety strategy, training development, and reporting, while fostering collaboration across business units and occupational health and safety committees. Primary duties include:
- Oversee the collection and analysis of OHS-related data and produce reports on performance, trends, and outcomes.
- Assess the effectiveness of OHS programs across the organization. Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, and recommend evidence-based solutions to the internal OHS team.
- Support and promote employee engagement and awareness in OHS culture initiatives and training, including psychological safety in the workplace.
- Coordinate the implementation of ongoing business improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams (e.g., Operational Excellence and Service Excellence).
- Lead the Service Experience team to deliver services, while implementing best practices.
- Supervise and lead a team of professional staff by providing mentorship, coaching, performance development and management, and training.
- Support and lead employees through organizational change initiatives that strengthen both physical and psychological safety.
- Lead the development and implementation of corporate OHS strategies and governance. Support the alignment of OHS goals with broader corporate initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety training programs for the organization and internal business unit.

- **Qualifications**
A degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field and at least 8 years of experience in occupational health and safety, change management, planning, or administration.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- Formal or informal leadership experience in managing a work group or team is an asset.
- Experience or interest in occupational health and safety management systems, auditing, policies, and strategy development is preferred.
- Knowledge of City departments, business units, Integrated Risk Management (IRM), and Results-Based Accountability (RBA) will be considered assets.
Success in this position requires strong communication, strategic management, and change management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and collaboration skills, along with the ability to coach, counsel, and develop employees.
