Heavy Equipment Operators (NOC 73400)
A & A Excavating Ltd. has been taking on the special excavation projects for more than 25 years in Vancouver and the lower mainland of BC. We have the most experienced crew for a variety of deep excavation projects. We are proud that we are the first company in British Columbia that has combined excavation and shoring with trucking to make sure we deliver the most efficient and productive service to our clients. We run more than 30 trucks and a large fleet of heavy plant equipment. We are looking to hire 2 Heavy Equipment Operators NOC 73400 to join our team as soon as possible.
**Job Type**: Full-time, Permanent
**Hourly wage**: $35.00 to $42.00 per hour (depending on skill and experience level)
**Hours of work**: 40 hours per week
**Benefits**: Full Extended Health Benefits
**Schedule**: Monday to Friday / Occasional weekends are required
**Overtime pay**: 1.5 % after 8 hours a day and after 40 hours a week, as per BC Labour Laws.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Work safely in a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures.
- Operate heavy equipment to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials.
- Operate heavy equipment to clear brush and stumps prior to logging activities and to build roads at logging and surface sites.
- Operate heavy equipment with pile driver head to drive piling into earth.
- Operate power shovels to excavate from construction pits
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment.
- Ensure that work is completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Attend regular safety meetings, identify potential hazards, and take necessary measures to minimize risks.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure that all excavation work meets quality requirements and industry standards.
- Work closely with project managers to plan and coordinate excavation activities.
- Compliance with regulations: Stay knowledgeable about relevant local, provincial, and federal regulations pertaining to excavation.
- Ensure that all work is conducted in compliance with these regulations.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma is required.
- 1 to 2 years experience working with heavy equipment excavation is essential.
- A comprehensive understanding of various shoring systems, including trench boxes, hydraulic shores, sheet piles, soldier piles, and other structural support systems.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing safety protocols is crucial.
- Proficiency in using and maintaining heavy equipment and tools.
- Understanding hydraulic systems, rigging, and equipment troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and plans related to excavation.
- Aptitude for identifying and resolving issues is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges and make decisions on the job.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks such as lifting, digging, and operating heavy equipment are necessary.

- Steel-toed safety boots and hard hat
- Safety glasses/goggles. Safety vest & Gloves
