We are excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated Financial Aid Officer (FAO) to join our team at City College. As an FAO, you will play a vital role in guiding students through the financial aid process, ensuring they can access the support they need for their education. Additionally, you'll be responsible for handling tuition and course fees while maintaining accurate student records.

**Responsibilities**:
As a Financial Aid Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

- Conducting interviews with student applicants to discuss financial options.
- Determine eligibility for various types of financial aid programs and provide guidance
- Review and verify financial aid documents
- Developing payment plans tailored to students' needs.
- Maintaining financial reports, issuing receipts, and tracking payments.
- Handling daily banking tasks, including deposits and credit card transactions.
- Managing student accounts, accounts receivable, and collections.
- Managing correspondence with Career Colleges Ontario and Financial Institutions.
- Stay updated on changes in financial aid regulations and policies
- Performing additional tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications**:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

- 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in student financial aid is a plus.
- Strong background in customer service, sales and collections experience would be considered a significant asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.

**Salary**: From $37,440.00 per year

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Newmarket, ON L3Y 7S1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
