Hse Coordinator

**Whitewater Management is looking to add to our growing team Hiring immediately for an experienced and highly organized HSE Coordinator based out of the Edmonton / Red Deer Alberta Region.**

This position will provide leadership in all areas related to health, safety, environmental, quality, and federal transportation/logistics across all our divisions (water transfer, mining & municipal, production chemicals, federal transportation).

Our successful applicant will be able to consistently communicate mature professional judgements, coach and guide employees and subcontractors, create excellent connections with divisional teams, clients, and field workers, and be able to work in situations with little supervision. Whitewater Management has a fast expansion strategy, and we require someone who can be a leader, prioritize efficient practices in HSE management, operations execution, and software system installation.

**Minimum Qualifications**:_**(PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY)**_
- _**Must be local to the Edmonton / Red Deer Alberta Region. **_
- _**Must have HSE Field experience (Minimum 2-4 years in a Field HSE role)**_
- _**Diploma or certificate in HSE (OHS Certificate, NCSO, etc.) or related field**_
- _**CRSP an asset (not required)**_
- _**Must be available to travel, often for multiple days away from primary base (Approx 60% + of time spent in field on site visits)**_
- Valid class 5 driver license
- Holds all required safety tickets (H2S, First Aid/CPR,PCST,CSO)
- Physically able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (up to several hours at a time)
- Ability to pass pre-employment testing
- _Having direct employment with a company, not as a contractor is preferred. _

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Hazard assessment and controls support and development
- SOP development support and coaching
- Safety meeting development and facilitation
- HSE statistics upkeep
- Field / facility inspections and coaching
- Incident investigations support and completion
- HSE information gathering for bids and projects
- Joint Health and Safety Committee member / coach
- COR Maintenance

**Key Competencies**:

- Ability to change gears rapidly to support organizational growth and product line expansion
- Ability to thrive in a demanding, fast paced and dynamic environment
- Water logistics experience or operational experience is desired, with experience working in an Exploration & Production oil & gas service company considered an asset (also consider mining, municipal, construction or other related industries)
- Experience training and providing mentorship and teachable moments to influence a true culture of safety
- Considerable mechanical competence, knowledge, and experience
- Ability to work autonomously and provide regular reports to management
- Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in performing Root Cause Analysis
- Ability to influence and lead others without direct reporting structure; strong leadership skills with front line workers and customers on site
- Working knowledge (developing) in all related HSE, WCB, OH&S, federal transportation, and human rights legislation and the ability to interpret the regulations and laws
- Ability to facilitate and lead trainings/orientations etc.
- Familiarity with Worksafe BC requirements considered an asset
- Exceptional written, oral and presentation skills
- Detailed record keeper and strong administrative skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams, Outlook)
- Excellent understanding of privacy and confidentiality legislation

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
