We are looking for a driven, energetic, and creative person who enjoys everything recruitment While focused on talent acquisition approximately 80% of the time during the current growth stage, the Talent Specialist role will evolve as the organization grows and as its needs expand and change. This role will have the potential to evolve into an all-encompassing Talent and People role. This role can be located anywhere in Canada where MAWC has offices and will operate as a part of a **hybrid work environment**: 2 days per week in one of the MAWC office spaces (Wednesday mandatory), and 3 days per week work from home, with occasional requirements to work outside of regular office hours. **It is a full-time, permanent position.** - **What You Will Do** - Owns the full-cycle recruitment process: - Manages all processes within our Applicant Tracking System (VidCruiter); - Collaborates with hiring managers on all stages of recruitment including but not limited to hiring, understanding hiring needs and challenges, strategy, compliance, conducts regular workforce planning sessions to proactively identify hiring needs and plan accordingly; - Conducts references and background checks through 3rd party; - Regularly follows up with hiring managers to determine hiring decisions and recruitment support that might be required; - Prepares offer letters and leads new-hire orientation; - Identify flaws and opportunities in the talent acquisition domain; - Ensures that the hiring process is compliant with employment laws and regulations. - Helps the organization define the onboarding process and related initiatives to integrate new hires into Make-A-Wish® Canada’s culture. The onboarding process will help new team members understand our mission, vision and values, and guide hiring managers on the best practices of setting the new hires up for success in their first 3-6 months with MAWC; - Is the ambassador of diverse, equitable, and inclusive hiring; - Works with HR, Marketing, and Communications teams to build employer brand strategies; - Coaches and trains hiring managers to increase knowledge and understanding of Make-A-Wish® Canada recruitment process, recruitment best practices, and compliance obligations; - Gathers and analyzes recruitment metrics to understand internal recruitment patterns and competently provide recruitment strategy recommendations; - Stays abreast of recruiting trends and best practices; - Participates in HR-specific projects and initiatives such as job evaluation, re-evaluation, and implementation of HR tools, processes, and initiatives, and further automating and optimizing our processes. - Works in compliance with the provisions of The Occupational Health & Safety Act in the applicable province of employment and its regulations and complies with the Foundation’s Health & Safety Policy; - Other duties as assigned - **What You Bring** - College/university degree or diploma
