Purpose:
The Warehouse Supervisor provides direct leadership for all warehouse personnel. Additionally, this position provides on-site support and leadership in the absence of the Operations and Facility Manager for the sites warehouse function and escalates issues to the Operations and Facility Manager appropriately and in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

- Ensure work is performed within established regulations, policies and procedures with regards to incoming goods, order processing, stock placement, workplace health and safety, the workplace environment and quality control
- Observe general performance of all staff
- Identify issues/concerns and report/escalate information to the appropriate personnel
- Ensure schedules and deadlines are adhered to
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships showing respect and professionalism with those contacted in the course of work including co-workers, brokers and couriers
- Provide leadership by demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behaviour
- Provide customer service to all clients as well as external and internal customers in a professional manner
- Ensures inventory is maintained at proper levels and escalates inventory issues to appropriate personnel
- Performs regular cycle counts, ensuring inventory accuracy
- Schedules warehouse staff, including vacation scheduling, to appropriately cover all shifts to ensure work is completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintains payroll system for Warehouse staff
- Responsible for Warehouse staff performance, provides performance feedback regularly and as needed, and provides annual performance appraisals with the Operations and Facility Manager
- Documents performance related issues of staff, provides conversations summaries and performs coaching sessions as necessary
- Lead, instruct and train employees on an ongoing basis to perform all Warehouse functions, including the provision of new employee hiring packages/training
- Identifies and escalates IT issues in a timely manner
- Participates with the Operations and Facility Manager in the hiring of Warehouse staff
- Regularly monitors Warehouse reports for deficiencies, immediately acting to correct deficiencies, identifies trends and makes/recommends process changes based on findings
- Provides feedback to Quality Control regarding any Quality Assurance reports related to the Warehouse department
- Provides regular staff meetings to ensure staff are aware of requirements and are aligned to tasks at hand
- Provides recognition of staff performance where staff member(s) work above and beyond or provide flexibility/availability beyond scheduled requirements
- Maintain a safe and healthy worksite

Qualifications:

- Completion of high school
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a warehouse supervisory role and 5 years experience in a warehouse environment
- Must be computer literate with a background in Microsoft Great Plains or Pronto Xi an asset
- Full Driver’s license in the province on their practice and clean driver’s abstract
- Criminal background check is required
- Health and Safety awareness training is an asset
- Must be able to lift up to 25kg
