**About the Role**:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitor to join our team at John Howard Society of Victoria. As a Janitor, you will play an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our staff, visitors, and clients. You will be responsible for routine cleaning tasks, minor repairs, and ensuring the safety and security of the facility. This is an in-person role with no options for work from home. The responsibilities will include however not limited to:
**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and clean various facilities and grounds, including: vacuuming, washing, stripping, waxing, burnishing, and shampooing floors, as well as cleaning carpets.
- Collect and dispose of refuse.
- Dust, wipe, and polish windows, bathroom fixtures, furniture, and performing spot and accidental cleaning as necessary.
- Maintain and clean parking lots and sidewalks using hand and powered equipment, including removing dirt, leaves, snow, and other refuse.
- Perform minor gardening tasks, such as mowing and trimming lawns.
- Conduct minor repairs on plumbing and electrical fixtures, buildings, grounds, and furniture, as well as changing light bulbs.
- Arrange furniture and set up for meetings and events.
- Maintain records, including various logs, key registers, and janitorial supplies inventory, and other records.
- Assist and order for inventory management.
- Other related duties

The role demands physical capability to operate cleaning equipment and perform the outlined duties, effective communication with supervisors, staff, clients, and the public, and the ability to organize and perform tasks independently.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of Grade 12
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a janitorial position

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Criminal Record Check
- Emergency First Aid is an asset however we will provide training
- Reliable vehicle
