**Payrol**l** Specialist**/General Bookkeeper**
**MANDATE**
The Payroll Specialist & General Bookkeeper manages and executes payroll processes across multiple countries, specifically Canada, the USA, Australia, and the UK. This role provides in-depth expertise in global payroll, ensuring adherence to local laws and backing our worldwide team. The payroll specialist consistently demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payroll operations. This role regularly monitors payroll-related tax, legal, and regulatory changes to stay updated on all compliance in the countries where LivingWorks operates.
With the combined accountability of General Bookkeeping, this role records and maintains LivingWorks’ accounting transactions with consistency and accuracy. With a focus on supporting the accounting team with Accounts Receivable and revenue recognition.
**KEY **OUTCOMES**
**Accurate and Timely Payroll Processing**:Payroll across LivingWorks is processed accurately and efficiently, minimizing errors and discrepancies.
**Regulatory Compliance**:LivingWorks maintains compliance with local, state, and federal payroll in all countries where LivingWorks operates.
**Efficient Accounts Receivables**:A/R Day-to-day functions are maintained and accurate.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
**Full Cycle Payroll Processing**
- Execute end-to-end payroll processes for LivingWorks team members in Canada, the USA, and Australia.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including salaries, benefits, and deductions.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including changes in employee status, tax withholdings, and other payroll-related data.
- Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and tax issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in payroll processing.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to streamline payroll systems and enhance efficiency.
- Provide training and support to team members on payroll-related topics.
**Compliance and Reporting**
- Monitor and maintain payroll-related tax, legal, and regulatory changes in all countries in which LivingWorks operations to ensure payroll compliance.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular research and audits to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to the People & Culture and Finance teams on international payroll matters.
**Revenue **Recognition** and Accounts Receivable Bookkeeping**:
- Generate invoices and deposits.
- Monitor and maintain proper sales tax allocations.
- Monitor collections and generate account statements.
- Perform routine account reconciliations and assist in monthly and year-end closing processes.
- Identify and reconcile account discrepancies, supporting with logically structured working papers.
- Assist with general bookkeeping duties in support of team members, as required.
- Assist in the development and execution of revenue recognition processes and procedures.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial reports and statements.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Accounting, Payroll, Business Admin, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Proven experience in managing payroll for Canada; experience with USA, UK or Australia payroll considered an asset.
- Extensive experience with QuickBooks.

- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations in Canada, and willingness to research and learn USA, UK and Australia.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
