**Your Opportunity**:
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Lead lessons and programs for riders that develop rider confidence on the Conservation Halton trail network
- Provide lesson/program experiences that focus on safe use of trails and skill development in riders of all ages and abilities
- Support various Mountain Bike Programs and the Kelso Bike Race Series
- Act as an ambassador for Conservation Halton; reporting on trail use, conditions, and safety
- Assist with trail maintenance & development where required
- Maintain a suitable bike for personal use while teaching and guiding. This includes:
- Ensuring the bike is safe for use
- Ensuring the bike is a professional representation of your abilities and certification
- Wearing and maintaining proper uniform, PPE, and equipment as described in the staff handbook
- Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton’s Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals.
- Other duties as assigned
**Your Qualifications**:
- Strong creativity, leadership, and collaboration skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service mindset and the ability to enforce policies and procedures in a professional manner
- Education, training, or certification in sport, recreation, or education is an asset
- Previous experience in a position providing instruction or guiding is an asset
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, on varied terrain.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Modern Mountain Bike in good working order
- Helmet
- Gloves/Footwear

- Part time and full-time hours available; hours may vary depending on availability
