Manager, Strategy, Planning and Performance

Make your impact and contribution in Public Health at the Middlesex-London Health Unit as the Manager, Strategy, Planning, and Performance. Reporting to the Director, Public Health Foundations, the Manager, Strategy, Planning and Performance (SPP) is responsible for the processes of planning, evaluation and performance management of the programs and services provided to the community. The Manager provides expertise to facilitate evidence-informed public health practice, promote knowledge translation, and to support decision-making in program planning, evaluation, and strategy. The Manager works in a multidisciplinary environment and provides advice and guidance to the agency on issues of strategic partnerships, public health strategy, public health issue management and emergency management while leading a team of Strategic Project Coordinators, Planning and Evaluation Specialists, Librarians, Informatics Specialists and the Emergency Management Specialist.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Master of Science in Epidemiology, Program Evaluation or equivalent graduate education;
- Minimum five years of experience in a leadership role, including managing of direct reports;
- Project management certification and/or experience in project management;
- Experience in local public health with familiarity of current public health issues and the Ontario Public Health Standards;
- Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated skills in epidemiological and statistical methods, applied research, and current related best practices;
- Advanced computer, internet and data management skills combined with experience using statistical, data management and Microsoft Office software packages;
- Excellent communication skills with ability to speak and write clearly, concisely, and logically, strong report-writing and presentation skills;
- Relationship-building skills within a multidisciplinary team and across all levels of the organization;
- Strong ability to lead, manage and motivate individual employees while fostering teamwork, collaboration and client service orientation;
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with ability to lead change and process improvements;
- Expertise in working with diverse populations, as well as demonstrated understanding of and experience in addressing health inequities;
- Demonstrated ability to create a safe work environment; and
- Ability to communicate in French or other languages would be considered an asset.
The salary for this position ranges from $101,377.82 up to $ 119,267.69 based on qualifications and experience.
