Inventory Analyst

The Inventory Analyst will have the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and operational groups. As an integral part of the Stores & Inventory team, they will be responsible for accurate inventory control and reporting to improve the utilization of inventory across the Plant.The key focus will be on inventory control, and the optimization of associated cost opportunities. Ensuring appropriate levels of inventory are managed strategically, and mitigating the risk of stock outs, and plant delays will be the measurement of success.The Inventory Analyst must be a self-starter who can manage and organize competing priorities, the ability to communicate in a collaborative manner, and be able to influence change
**Responsibilities**
- Understand and manage the requirements and deliverables to meet replenishment demand whilst optimizing cost opportunity.
- Identify item criticality and stocking models to target reduction or right sizing opportunities in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Manage and enter inventory as materials, equipment and stock are received, issued, and transferred in a computerized inventory system.
- Review inventory forecast/planning parameters on a regular basis and at the direction of Management.
- Monitor and improve inventory performance of stock items.
- Prepare requisition orders to replenish materials, equipment and stock.
- Maintain stock rotation and return or dispose of and account for outdated/surplus stock.
- Enter data for planning, stock replenishment/relocation and inventory adjustments.
- Reconcile physical inventories with computer counts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory accuracy and availability.
- Analyze and review the inventory movement data and recommend improvements.
- Investigate material usage variances in excess of standards, identify root cause, and recommend corrective action.
- Provide analytical support and statistical analysis of data to support projects and team initiatives.
- Respond to non-routine requests for financial information and analysis.
- Work with Purchasers to Plan and coordinate product logistics to meet required delivery deadlines.
- Generate reports (inventory projections and consumption, sales forecast, obsolete stock and aging inventory, etc.) on a regular basis.
- Provide recommendations to improve inventory processes and procedures.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- 5 years of Supply Chain or related experience.
- A degree in Supply Chain or enrollment in the SCMP designation program or related experience
- A degree in accounting would be considered an asset.
- Past inventory management experience in a manufacturing setting would be considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills including advanced excel skills, pivot table, v-lookup.
- Demonstrate process improvement mindset.
- Ability to determine logical process flow, accounting for risks, and subsequent resolutions.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and to work under pressure within specified timelines.
- Strong skills around judgment, setting priorities, objectives and planning and organizing.
- Proven ability to create and implement process changes or improvements.
- Ability and desire to be a leader, informally and formally.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- High attention to detail is required.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
**Job Details**
- Full-time permanent opportunity
- Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm
- Full time in-office/operations, in Edmonton Alberta (no remote or hybrid)
