The Crane/Saw Operator is responsible for the efficient and accurate operation of Walters machines, performing routine maintenance, and abiding by Walters safe work practices and procedures.**Main responsibilities will include**:

- Efficient and accurate operation of Walters machines
- Studies work orders and interpret blueprints to determine bevel requirements
- Ensures dimensional accuracies and tolerances.
- Maintain accurate records of the machine and ensure all required paperwork is completed correctly.
- Troubleshoots machine problems working with maintenance when required.
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Runs machine in accordance with Walters safe work practices and procedures.
- Ensures all tools/equipment and machines are operated with care.

**Experience**
- Demonstrated experience working as a machine operator in a steel fabrication environment is an asset.
- Overhead crane operation.
- Saw operations.

**Skills, Knowledge and Competency Requirements**
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to read a tape measure in both metric and imperial
- Ability to operate overhead cranes
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Procedures
- A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment
- Organization Skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities
- Accurate recordkeeping
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task

**Working Conditions**
- Working indoors and outdoors year round
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
