**Manual Machinist**

Central Machine & Marine Inc. (CMM) is a large-scale machine and fabrication facility located in Southwestern Ontario servicing the Petro-chemical, power generation, marine and other heavy industries since 1973.

**We are looking to bring in a new Manual Machinist to join the team at CMM at 649 McGregor Side Rd in Sarnia.**

**We offer $29-36 to start depending on experience, we have growth opportunities available, boot allowance, double time for overtime, uniforms/coveralls are provided, meal chits, company events and BBQ’s.**

Major Responsibilities and Skills:

- Read and interpret technical drawings to set up machines accordingly.
- Have a full understanding and working knowledge of all measuring tools, Micrometer's, Vernier calipers, etc.
- Have the ability to calculate and verify dimensions and tolerances of machined parts using precision measuring devices as outlined above.
- Operate and set up of manual machines, including holding/clamping devices to perform machining operations.
- Plan and organise machining work in accordance with workflow priorities, selecting the appropriate cutting tools to perform the task.
- Perform Planned and Preventive Maintenance when need.
- Must be fully aware of and working to quality standards and have a ‘Zero Defect’ mentality.
- Train and coach new employees and apprentices when needed.
- Perform all the above in a safe and efficient manner.

Experience and qualifications:

- At least four years of experience within a manufacturing environment, operating manual machines, including Lathes, Mills, Drill Press, Grinding, Honing machines, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for mechanical or operational challenges.
- Ability to work independently while following instructions effectively.
- Knowledge of CNC Machining an asset but not required
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, adapt and be part of a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed.
- Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds intermittently.
- Proficient in forklift & overhead crane use
- Basic computer skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $29.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Experience**:

- Machining (Manual): 4 years (required)
- Manufacturing: 4 years (required)
- Crane: 2 years (preferred)
- Forklift: 2 years (preferred)
