South Bruce Peninsula, Canada Bluewater Education Foundation Full time

The Bluewater Education Foundation is looking for two capable and enthusiastic **Events Coordinators** for programming during the months of May - August, 2025.

The Events Coordinator(s) will plan, administer, and deliver special events and outreach programs. This will include the extension of delivery of programs developed and tested with the support of Canada Summer Jobs funding last summer, as well as program delivery at local and regional community festivals and events.

Following this, she will coordinate with senior Bluewater Education Foundation Staff to learn the BOEC’s programming, and the scheduled delivery times and locations through the summer. The Events Coordinator(s) will take over communication with scheduled program participants and festival partners, location hosts, and First Nations partners, and continue advertising to increase the reach of the developed programs.

The Events Coordinator(s) will also collect feedback from programming and events to improve the quality of the programming as well as to grow sustainable funding sources for the programs moving forward. She will receive training on the process of budgeting for the day-to-day operations of the program, and maintain this budget through the summer.

In the final week of the summer, the Events Coordinator(s) will debrief, and manage the process of gathering, storing, and disposing of assets used in the programming. She will also prepare a report for delivery to the Foundation Board of Directors, outlining the successes and challenges of the programs, and important aspects to retain or improve upon for the following summer.

Along with these core responsibilities, the Events Coordinator(s) will represent the Bluewater Education Foundation at festivals and events throughout the region, schedule and coordinate support for these events with the BEF’s Camp Counsellors, and provide support and relief for camp counsellors to support their opportunities to develop new and innovative programming.

**General Information About the Program**

Last summer, we received grant funding to develop site-specific, Indigenous land-use based educational programs, delivered throughout Grey/Bruce to children, youth, and adults. This project allowed us to deliver on our vision of providing immersive experiences in nature and encouraging personal commitment to environmentally sustainable actions in the communities we serve, growing a stronger connection to the land throughout the region.

**Information About the Available Position**

The Events Coordinator position is full time (35 hours/week on average) commencing on or around May 12th, 2025 and finishing on or around August 29th, 2025.

**This position may include some overnights, weekends, and evenings. Overtime will be accumulated over the course of the summer, and paid out at time x 1.5 after the end of the work term.**

**Roles and Responsibilities of the Events Coordinator**

The Events Coordinator will review program materials to build familiarity with them. She will then schedule opportunities for delivery of the program with community partners, at community events, and anywhere else that suits the goals of the program, negotiating a program fee with the program recipient where appropriate.

The Events Coordinators will work as a team to thoroughly plan the delivery of the program, ensure the required materials are available and onsite, and collect information on attendees of the program. They will deliver the program, and report regularly on the success and challenges faced during program delivery.

The Events Coordinator will develop and pursue opportunities moving forward to deliver the program to a paid audience, as well as training school board and community partners on the program, to allow them to deliver it to their own client base.
