The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Communications & Technology Services Bureau is seeking a collaborative leader to join our Provincial Communication Support Unit. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will plan, manage, and coordinate a program and provide leadership and supervision to a team of specialists in delivering programs and services as well as develop and recommend evidence based program or service delivery options, and best operational practices and standards, to better achieve ministry program objectives. This position is for the Manager, PCO Centralized Recruitment and Training Unit within the Communications and Technology Services Bureau. This unit is vital and is responsible for hiring hundreds of new members for the Provincial Communications Centres (PCC) as well as other frontline program areas such as Civilian Data Entry (CDE). The Manager also oversees the training unit which is responsible for the delivery of province-wide telecommunications and technology training. **Note - This is an operational position requiring a high level of engagement with the teams and stakeholders. The successful applicant will be required to report to General Headquarters (777 Memorial Ave., Orillia) to perform their duties in accordance with Ontario Public Service workplace policies. The challenge of meeting the needs of a provincial police service with over 9,000 uniform civilian members in a province as vast as Ontario is significant.
