**The role**

The Summer Associate is a full-time contract role beginning June 2, 2025. The contract term is 14 weeks, but there is some flexibility to shorten or extend the contract. It is a paid full-time role (40 hours/week).

McMillan Vantage will provide you with training that will expose you to client service, but it is critical that this individual is a self-starter.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Developing excellent first drafts of materials such as PowerPoints, key messages, briefing or issues notes, key messages, and social media content under the direction of more senior consultants
- Monitoring of applicable federal and provincial press conferences, government announcements, funding programs, and question period debates
- Track news, political trends, and key issues relevant to clients
- Assist in identifying and mapping key decision makers, influencers and stakeholders on key issues
- Providing account support such as organizing meetings, producing call summaries and creating project schedules / to do lists
- Learning about new sectors and issues in support of McMillan Vantage new business development

**The qualifications and competencies**
- A recent graduate of a post-secondary institution with a degree in political science, history, public policy, or a related field. However, we welcome applicants who are enrolled in or are graduating from a Master’s program
- Proven experience working independently with strong time and project management skills
- Excellent verbal, writing, and editing skills in English (French is an asset)
- Interest in learning on your feet and continuously improving
- Share in our commitment to advancing The Vantage Way and producing the highest quality of work for our clients
- Understanding of content marketing tools is an asset but not required
