**Position Summary**

The Early Learning Child Care (ELCC) Facilitators will support the development and implementation of ELCC’s strategic goals and objectives. Reporting to the ELCC’s management team, the ELCC Facilitator will work directly with First Nations ELCC programs to support workforce development and quality assurance.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Applies current early childhood pedagogy to meet the needs of the FNELCC.
- Applies First Nations worldviews, languages, and cultures to meet the needs of the FNELCC programs.
- Utilizes observation planning tools and processes to conduct needs and site assessments.
- Analyses data gathered at FNELCC sites and assists programs in determining the required supports.
- Write status reports to FNELCC sites and the FNELCCM management team.
- Coordinates with First Nations families, organizations, and schools to facilitate the needs of FNELCC programs.
- Remains up to date with current early learning and childcare research and best practices
- Interpret provincial ELCC legislation, policies and frameworks.
- Interpret the Indigenous Early Learning and Child Care Framework.
- Provides varying levels of support to FNELCC programs related to programming.
- Collaborates in the planning and development of the FNELCCM strategic plan with interdisciplinary team members.
- Prepares reports and other documentation as required.
- Develops and presents various topics related to FNELCC goals and objectives in person and online.
- Assists in the planning, organization and presentations of the ELCC conferences and gatherings.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Degree in Developmental Studies; Early Childhood Education (ECE) III or minimum ECE II and a minimum of five years of related experience in an early childhood education institution/organization.
- Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in technical writing and publishing materials.
- Comprehensive knowledge of child development; and early childhood pedagogy.
- Knowledge of First Nations, leadership, and governance structures.
- Experience working in First Nations ELCC programs.
- Ability to plan, develop and present workshops, seminars and ELCC competency requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
- Ability to relate to and communicate will with others.
- Ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive matters.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in a First Nations language is considered an asset.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle and willing to travel extensively, including remote and isolated First Nations.
- Must have a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check, and Clear Child Abuse Checks.
