**Health Physicist**

location Port Hope, Ontario, Canada

**Honours degree** in science or engineering. Preferably post graduate degree in health physics or
equivalent studies from a university of recognized standing (e.g. nuclear engineering, radiation)

**Minimum of five years of practical experience as a qualified Health Physicist**, providing technical
support for RP instrumentation or providing oversight on RP lead improvement initiatives.

Demonstrates sound knowledge and understanding of Radiation Protection program
requirements, and manual(s) and procedures.
Possesses a thorough knowledge of the Canadian Safety Nuclear Commission (CNSC) regulations and
is familiar with instrument standards, guidelines or recommendations.
RP controls for the purposes of optimizing protection of workers due to ionizing radiation.
Selection of radiation and contamination measuring and monitoring equipment and technically

competent to review and develop RP instrument related documents, work of other professionals
and facility documents for accuracy, adequacy and compliance with the RP program.
Decontamination methods and techniques.
Characterization and release radiological surveys.
