Receptionist/assistant

**Job Summary**
We are seeking an organized self-starter to fill a new role of Receptionist/Assistant on our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing customer service and administrative support. You will manage phone systems, invoice and process payments, perform data entry tasks, assist with our social media presence, and assist with clerical duties to ensure the smooth operation of our office. Being a smaller organization we all wear many hats, so someone who is flexible in their duties is critical.
**Duties**
- Greet clients and visitors warmly and direct them to locations throughout the nursery as needed.
- Answer, screen and manage incoming calls.
- Perform data entry tasks in our custom software.
- Organize and file documents systematically to ensure easy retrieval.
- Utilize Microsoft Office (excel in particular) for various administrative tasks, including tracking annual purchasing.
- Assist with clerical duties such as preparing reports, handling mail, and maintaining office supplies.
**Requirements**:
- Strong typing skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Previous experience in a clerical or office setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a nursery or garden center is an asset.
We are open Monday to Friday 8-4:30.
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
