**Nature & Scope**:
Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Cleaning, the Cleaner will work as part of a team that will consistently maintain a high level of cleanliness within the facility. The Cleaner will ensure that members have a clean and safe facility to enjoy all that the YMCA of Eastern Ontario has to offer.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that all assigned areas are cleaned as per established protocols, monitoring all areas by walking throughout the facility regularly
- Enter the change rooms on a regular basis for ongoing cleaning and to keep the supplies and equipment in good order
- Know, follow and promote all established procedures and safety standards
- Respond promptly to requests for cleaning services
- Perform pool chemistry tests and record readings
- Ensure good relations with YMCA staff, members, guests and the public
- Lift and carry supplies weighing up to 40 lbs (18kg) as necessary
- Assist with coverage of shifts as needed

**Qualifications**:

- Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) including Vulnerable Sector Check completed not more than 120 days prior to date of hire, with results acceptable to the YMCA of Eastern Ontario
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR level “C”
