**Job Summary**:
Now, if you were to come on board as our **Sales and Marketing Manager**, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Prospect for new business while maintaining relationships with clients.
- Invite meeting/event planners to visit the convention centre and conduct site inspection/ tour and FAM trips.
- Attend trade shows and participate in key feeder market cities sales blitz as directed.
- Maintain a strong local presence within the community by being actively involved in various industry specific organizations, groups and social events.
- Conduct pre-convention meetings as required with key team members and clients; to ensure all requirements are anticipated and exceed the guest expectations.
- Completion of special projects as requested.
- To meet and/or exceed budgeted expectations relative to the assigned market segments.
- Utilize Sales software, to document written and verbal communications, to trace the client’s files for follow-up correspondence and generate letters.
- Attend business review meetings as required and scheduled.
- Solicit and book new group business for convention centre based on deployment of office.
- Responds to customers inquiries and leads, phone calls, and correspondence on a timely basis.
- Entertain clients and conduct site inspections.
- Prospect & solicit and conduct outside sales calls on various accounts to expand account base.
- Establish familiarization with competition and understand key selling techniques when competing for same groups.
- Re-book group and follow-up with customers.

- Must possess minimum 3-4 years hotel/convention Sales & Marketing experience.
- Experience with ASSOCIATION - CSAE / Regional markets is an asset.
- SMERF experience and knowledge is an asset.
- Proficiency with social media platforms, ie. Facebook, Instagram, etc.
- Working knowledge of operational needs of events, serving, bartending, etc.
- Ability to do overnight travel through Ontario and other strategic markets as needed.
- Strong knowledge of all hotel/convention operations.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven leadership skills, computer literate and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
