Server/bartender for Vegan/plant Based Restaurant

Avelo Restaurant and Bar Avelo are two unique vegan fine dining experiences in a two-storey townhouse. Avelo Restaurant offers a multi-course tasting menu, while Bar Avelo is on the second floor with a focus on cocktails, offering an a la carte menu in a cozy space with a speakeasy vibe. Servers for the tasting menu will need to be fast, efficient and passionate about food. The nature of the tasting menu is a very hands on experience and requires memorization and presentation skills. Each dish being served is unique in its own fun way, and working with the tasting menu is a wonderful way to let your personality shine through and offer an incredibly unique experience to the guests. For bartending, the focus is on efficient but high quality drinks. We have built a unique cocktail menu with top quality ingredients, but also we take care in hand crafting each drink. Curiosity and passion about drinks and building connection with guests is important. There is also the element of serving customers from our a la carte menu of small plates which operates in the classic ordering style. Qualities we are looking for: - Ability to work fast, multitask and operate with a team rather than just as an individual. - A "no job is too small" kind of attitude. - Passionate about food. - Clear and efficient communication skills. - Able to stay calm and work in a fast paced environment. - Enjoys their work. - Wine knowledge is also an asset. Our model emphasizes working collaboratively and in a non-hierarchical system. For our team to function that way, we all operate with the mindset of "how can I help", where no job is too small, and everyone is willing to lend a hand when needed. In this system, we collectively manage tasks, not people, and all staff are treated equitably and have a voice.
