Join Equitable Life today. **Position**: IT Desktop Support Analyst **Reports to**: Manager, IT End User Services **Department**: Corporate IT **Term**: 12 month full time contract **Work Arrangements**: This role is based 100% in office in Waterloo, ON. **The Opportunity**: Desktop technologies represent a crucial part of IT’s ability to deliver value to our customers and business partners. We are the conduit that allows daily processing, transactions, and functionality, and as such need to be maintained at a constantly high performing and secure level. We are looking for that technical whiz who can help deliver this critical capability to join our team and help us deliver on this important commitment. The right person will be a great teammate, willing to be there and support our goals and objectives.and to have a bit of fun along the way. **What you’ll do**: - Act as prime for on-site Deskside support activities such as computer break/fix requirements of our end users, staff onboarding & offboarding hardware configurations, electronic equipment inventory & disposal, and hardware lifecycle and evergreen initiatives - Maintain optimal function of mission critical desktop computing environments including basic IT Asset Management - Help manage an enterprise ( >1000 device) Windows desktop environment, including computer repairs & deployments, automation, maintenance, patching, security, and systems management tool sets - Work on large scale IT transformation projects, while also sweating the minutiae of day-to-day operations - Work on a great team that is equally passionate about performance and delivery - Grow your IT skill set through digging in hands on and learning from your peers - Other IT service or support activities as required **What you’ll need**: - A love of desktop computing technologies (like, you really, really love desktop computing technologies) - A focus on the customer and the integrity to always do the right thing - Desire to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done - Minimum 1 year in IT or equivalent technical or business diploma - Previous experience in an End User Services role capacity such as Desktop Support or Service Desk - Intermediate knowledge and experience with the latest Windows desktop operating systems as well as the use of Microsoft SCCM or similar technologies - Entry-level Microsoft or similar certifications; ITIL v3 Foundations certification a strong asset - Experience/exposure working with a virtual desktop infrastructure is a strong asset - Strong problem solving and troubleshooting capability; an analytical and critical thinker - Strong detail orientation and organization skills - Basic level Microsoft PowerShell skills would be an asset - Great communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), negotiation skills and a strong team player **What we offer**: - A healthy work/life balance and employee wellness.
