Repair Technician

**Role**:The Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing faulty devices, including various printer models, down to the passive component level. This role also includes developing test systems, conducting quality checks, and maintaining accurate data records. The technician may assist with device cleaning, packaging, and shipping, as well as supporting other tasks as needed.
**Responsibilities**:
- Diagnose and repair faulty devices to the passive component level.
- Repair and troubleshoot various models of printers.
- Recommend and assist in the development of test systems for Test Technicians.
- Conduct random quality checks on devices from the test area.
- Perform data entry into the inventory system and track quality results.
- Clean and package devices for storage or shipping.
- Assist with preparing and shipping products to authorized repair centers.
- Perform other duties as required.
**Requirements**:
- Lifting up to 30Kg
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Strong knowledge of Lexmark and Ricoh printers
- Strong Knowledge of computer systems
- General soldering skills
- Capable of performing mechanical repairs
- Familiar with computer programs i.e. Microsoft Office
- Experience developing test systems
- Electronics Diploma
**Work Environment**:
- Working in Warehouse Area
- Repair products are dusty and dirty. When units are opened, dust becomes air born.
- Blower Room with Air Compressor - Eye protection is required
- Working with fine pitch cables and connectors
- Working with computer screens all day
- Walking distance to get product for repair
- Technicians work side by side at the repair benches.
- Using cleaning products - spray containers (Windex, isopropyl alcohol)
- Moderate soldering
- Repetitive motion
- Using a microscope at times or magnification lamp
- Reading documents
**Preferred**:
- Experience in a computer repair environment
- Experience with printer repairs
- Experience in a Point-of-Sale repair environment
- IPC Solder certification
- Experience with Quality Assurance
