We’re looking for an Events Specialist to take the lead on creating events that excite our guests, elevate our brand and showcase WEM as a premier destination for can’t miss experiences.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead event strategy and execution in collaboration with the Events, Retail, Hotel, and Attractions Marketing Managers to develop, coordinate and deliver high-profile annual and special events across West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external organizers, talent representatives, sponsors and partners, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and delivering exceptional guest, client and entertainment experiences.
- Oversee onsite event operations by directing logistics, supervising staff and vendors and resolving unexpected challenges with professionalism, confidence and sound judgment.
- Manage end-to-end event production, including talent coordination, staging, green room preparation, line management and audience experience, in collaboration with logistics and operations teams.
- Evaluate and secure new event opportunities, conducting market research, assessing feasibility and recommending innovative concepts that enhance WEM’s reputation as a premier entertainment destination.
- Collaborate with marketing team on event promotion, including advertising, social media integration, sponsorship deliverables and post-event reporting to measure success and ROI.
- Mentor and support junior staff and coordinators, providing guidance on best practices in event planning, vendor management and execution.
- Other responsibilities as required.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 2 -3 years of progressive experience in event management, large-scale event production, promotions, or related marketing/project management roles.
- Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Event Management, Marketing, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex, high-profile events with multiple stakeholders, vendors, and production elements.
- Strong industry knowledge and established relationships within the events, entertainment and production communities.
- Highly organized, proactive and adaptable, with exceptional time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
- A solutions-oriented professional with proven ability to manage budgets, optimize resources and deliver measurable event outcomes.
- Driven, self-motivated and passionate about creating memorable experiences that strengthen brand reputation and customer engagement.

**TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- This is a full-time position that is required Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications.
- This position qualifies for West Edmonton Mall’s 4-Day Work Week Program upon successful completion of a probationary period.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
