**Key Responsibilities**:The Personal Support Worker or UCP works on the floor supporting the individualized care plans. The PSW or UCP supports activities of daily living for residents, general housekeeping and charting on the health and wellbeing of all residents. You are responsible to ensure the best quality of life for the resident, and exceptional customer service for them and their guests.

Supervises residents' needs, giving direct assistance as needed.

**Reporting relationship**: Reports to Shift Manager. Acts as PSW or UCP (Unregulated Care Provider).

**As a positive and active contributor, your key duties will include**:

- Provides medications to residents according to the residence’s policies and procedures for medication administration
- Responsible to the safekeeping and count of narcotics
- Responds as the team lead to all emergencies
- Assists and attends to residents’ special needs as outlined in care plans provided
- Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- Operates and cleans equipment and maintains all resident areas as per work routines
- Charts on changes, behaviours and general care of residents
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Previous work experience in providing laundry, food or personal care services an asset
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent
- Post secondary education in related care fields [e.g. Personal Support Worker (PSW), Health Care Aide (HCA) or Developmental Services Worker (DSW) certification] is preferred
- First Aid/CRP Certificate
- Successful completion of UCP medication administration certificate (on site training provided)
- Ability to read and communicate effectively
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Must be able to operate related equipment

**Working Conditions include**
- Ability to exert equivalent of lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50lbs between 25%-50% of the shift
- Job requires regular exposure to challenging conditions and hazards/chemicals (more than 50% of the time)
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints with occasional exposure to challenging conditions more than 50% of the time
- Ability to maintain focus an occasional high level of concentration for 20% to 50% of ones shift
- Ability to multi task and switch tasks and endure interruptions with agility 20% to 50% of ones shift

**Salary**: $17.11-$18.66 per hour
