**About the Role**

The Manager, Network Operations, will be responsible and accountable for delivery of data and voice network operations. The network connects over 130 sites (local and international), 6,000 users, 2 data centers, multiple IaaS, PaaS and SaaS clouds, multiple campus locations and over 1,000 servers and is foundational to ATCO’s business operations. The successful applicant will leverage their strong technical knowledge and substantial network operations experience to provide thought leadership and mentoring, and operational leadership experience to oversee day-to-day operations and project delivery. This will include oversight of the Managed Network Services provider as well as direct reports who are involved in planning and project execution. Leading by example, this position will uphold unwavering commitment to client success, lead creative problem solving and solutioning, and strive for continuous improvement of our networks.

**What You Get to Do**:
Technical and Operational Oversight
- Operational oversight and strategic leadership for the delivery of ATCO’s data and voice network solutions
- Oversight of Managed Network Services provider
- Ensure adequate network capacity is in place to serve client requirements
- Ensure full monitoring of all network systems
- Address concerns regarding operational or project risks and issues, including vendor concerns, escalating to Director, Infrastructure and Operations where required
- Oversight of patch management
- Participate and/or delegate Change Request reviews and approvals in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
- Provide technical guidance and oversight for day-to-day operations and project work
- Stakeholder management with ATCO businesses and vendors
- Manage all suppliers ensuring appropriate support agreements are in place for all network systems

Documentation
- Ensure that the team creates and maintains documentation of hardware and OS software architecture and support procedures, including regular patching
- Ensure documentation covers all aspects of delivery for network services
- Perform regular reviews of documentation for currency and completeness

Planning and Requirements
- l Support ATCO initiatives by representing Infrastructure and Operations where new or enhanced network solutions/projects are being considered
- Translate business requirements into technical needs and bring forward existing infrastructure services or proposed new services that best meets required solution outcomes
- Collaborate in the design of network solutions that meet operational or project requirements

Research and Technical Evaluation
- Maintain expertise in all relevant server operating system (OS) infrastructure technologies and provide oversight of hardware and software vendors in the OS and technical solutions delivery space
- Keep abreast of new and emerging on-premise and cloud technologies
- Maintain knowledge of vendor supplied and ATCO-developed infrastructure solutions
- Maintain expert technical infrastructure knowledge and understanding of interfacing systems and associated business areas supported

**What You Bring**:

- Post-secondary education in IT. Other relevant programs may be considered
- 10+ years of data and voice network industry experience
- 7-10 years of direct network implementation and operations experience including network strategy development and performance management of direct reports
- Experience operating in ITIL environment in adherence to ITIL processes
- Expertise with Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper and Palo Alto SD WAN, Juniper MIST Wi-Fi and Cisco LAN switching technology and design would be an asset
- Experience is maintaining highly available voice and data networks with route diversity and redundant configurations
- Experience interacting with telecom providers including negotiation, contract & service management and escalations
- Experience with implementation and management of VOIP and Teams phone systems
- Experience with implementation and management of on-premise and cloud-based call center telephony systems
- Ability to maintain strategic perspective on issues and opportunities
- Knowledgeable of business/technology trends and industry maturity
- Experience working effectively across divisional lines in a complex, multi-site organization
- Very strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing
- Very strong influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills - able to convince and obtain commitmen
