The Municipal Group of Companies is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction, mining, and environmental services within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented **Document Specialist** to join our Accounting Department based out of **Bedford, NS.**

**Job Summary**:
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Create, edit, and maintain procedural documents, technical documentation, user manuals, training materials, FAQs, and standard operating procedures for the accounting software.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and tailored to meet the needs of both technical and non-technical users.
- Develop and document accounting processes and workflows to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Regularly update and improve existing documentation based on user feedback, changes in accounting regulations, or software updates.
- Review documentation for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to internal standards and best practices.
- Collaborate/Communicate with accounting and finance teams to ensure all procedural documentation is accurate and reflects current practices.
- Provide training sessions and support for staff on the use of accounting software and related documentation.
- Create and maintain training materials that facilitate user onboarding and ongoing education.
- Work closely with software developers, accountants, and other stakeholders to gather information for documentation.
- Act as a liaison between technical and accounting teams to ensure documentation accurately reflects system capabilities.
- Manage the document control process for accounting documentation, including versioning, approvals, and distribution.
- Implement and maintain document management systems for easy access to all accounting-related documents.
- Assist users in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to accounting software, systems, or hardware, ensuring mínimal disruption to users' workflow.
- Offer remote and in-person support to users encountering technical issues with accounting software, ensuring efficient problem resolution.
- Monitor recurring issues and work with IT teams to implement long-term solutions to improve system stability.
- Work closely with IT teams to resolve complex technical issues related to accounting software.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience**:

- Minimum of **2 years experience** in document control or technical support roles, with a focus on managing technical documentation and providing troubleshooting assistance.
- Proven experience in technical writing or documentation.
- Proficiency in documentation tools and software (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace, documentation management systems).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
