Do you thrive in a collaborative, team environment? **Bike and Brew** is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our team **About the Role**: As a Barista at Bike and Brew, your goal is to provide exceptional guest experiences by crafting high-quality beverages and fostering positive customer relationships. You’ll handle opening and closing duties, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and actively contribute to the evolution of our café. Additionally, you’ll support our bike shop team by assisting with sales and ensuring smooth operations. Your flexibility and team spirit will play a crucial role in delivering the ultimate guest experience. **Key Responsibilities**: - Greet customers warmly, take orders, prepare and serve beverages. - Prepare exceptional hot and cold drinks, including espresso, cappuccino, lattes, teas, etc., while accommodating customer preferences. - Maintain a clean and sanitary coffee bar, following food safety guidelines. - Clean and sanitize coffee equipment, customer areas, restrooms, and high-touch surfaces; handle garbage disposal. - Accurately record sales, process payments, and follow cash-handling procedures. - Check and ensure proper functioning of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment. - Support the bike shop team by assisting with sales and tasks during slower coffee bar periods. - Uphold company values by acting with integrity, honesty, and professionalism. - Maintain punctuality and regular attendance. - Be proactive and "Generally Awesome" **Experience/Qualifications**: - At least **1 year of barista experience** with strong knowledge of hot and cold beverages. - **Pro Serve certification** required. - High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. - Previous experience in a coffee shop or café environment. - Excellent customer service and communication skills. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in transactions. - Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and work independently. - A team player with a positive and collaborative mindset. **Why Join Bike and Brew?** - A fun and supportive team environment. - Opportunities to grow and make a meaningful impact in a unique café and bike shop setting. - A chance to combine your passions for coffee and cycling **How to Apply**: If you’re ready to bring your skills and enthusiasm to Bike and Brew, send your resume and a brief cover letter. **Bike and Brew: Where coffee meets cycling.** **Job Type**: Part-time Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour Expected hours: 12 - 25 per week Additional pay: - Tips **Benefits**: - Discounted or free food - Store discount Schedule: - Evening shift - Every Weekend - Monday to Friday Application question(s): - Why do you want to worked at Bike and Brew? - Do you consider yourself a cyclist? **Education**: - Secondary School (required) **Experience**: - Barista: 1 year (required) **Language**: - English (required) **Location**: - Calgary, AB T2E 2L3 (required) Work Location: In person Application deadline: 2025-01-30 Expected start date: 2025-01-30
