The Data Analyst and Report Writer at TSoM will be responsible for research, report writing and data interpretation. Investigates complicated issues, discovers, and solves challenges and promotes informed decision-making across the College using advanced statistical and analytical methodologies. The position requires constant communication with different staff levels within the organization. The role requires the use of specialized computer software, such as databases and statistical programs. The Data Analyst and Report Writer will report directly to the Dean, Academics.

**Specific Responsibilities**
- Write and maintain high-quality documentation, adhere to departmental standards for sharing and organizing documentation to ensure accessibility; constantly improves documentation and ensure that it is accurate and up to date; keep up-to-date status reports.
- Consults with faculty and/or staff to identify new business reporting needs and provides guidance and interpretation of complex environments and data.
- Prepare various academic reports related to instructional design, curriculum, and mapping experiences.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Collect, analyze, and convert data into clear, in-depth, reflective reports.
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
- Organize and meet with stakeholders to collect data

- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
- Manage inter-departmental collaboration on data collection for reports.

**Education and Experience**:

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree preferred with concentration in Database Management System. Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Proven analytic skills, including evaluation, analysis, and visualization
- Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, presentations
- Good Excel skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Prior experience implementing/managing higher education administration/policies and procedures
- Expert knowledge and experience with academic administration and quality assurance laws.
- Excellent precision and attention to detail
- Excellent administrative and organizational abilities
- Advanced computer abilities, including knowledge of and experience with relevant software systems
- The ability to work well under pressure and find solutions to problems
- Proactive service development and change management experience to satisfy the demands of an organization and students
- Familiarity with higher education information systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of business intelligence platforms and/or reporting tools
