**The Role**:
**Your Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and/or contribute to fisheries and aquatic related programs in your region and across Canada.
- Lead and/or contribute to fisheries and aquatics technical documentation, writing impact assessment statements, and regulatory submissions in your region.
- Conduct environmental monitoring for a wide variety of construction projects.
- Develop and contribute to mitigation measures, monitoring, and mitigation planning.
- Complete technical review of deliverables completed by more junior personnel to support KGS Group IMS standards.
- Mentor junior personnel in field techniques and technical writing.
- Contribute to the KGS Group Safety culture by leading by example.
- Collaborate with other Departments and KGS Group team members as required and contribute and support non-fisheries related projects.

**About You**:
To fill the role, we’re looking for an applicant to bring forward a good mix of qualifications and previous experiences.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate of post-secondary education related to fisheries, aquatic, environmental sciences, or biological science. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience conducting fish inventories and habitat assessments, preference will be given to experience with consulting.
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing field programs with a variety of gear including gill netting, seine capture, electrofishing, and minnow trapping.
- Experience in data entry, quality assurance, and quality control for data sets, including the use of electronic field to office programs such as Survey 123, or equivalent software programs.
- Experience working independently and in a team. You must be a team player, know what you don’t know, and are willing to give 100% every day.
- Demonstrated strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience contributing to and leading Environmental Impact Assessments in relation to fisheries and aquatic disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience with Fisheries Act authorizations.
- Willingness to work for extended periods up to 14 days in the field across Canada.
- Demonstrated experience operating boats.
- Demonstrated experience working outdoors in a wide variety of conditions.
- Ability to conduct physically demanding work in highly variable weather conditions
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position, including the ability to lift and maneuver over 30 kg.

**Experience with the following will be considered assets**:

- Qualified or registered with a professional organization such as P.Biol, or RPBio, or ability to obtain such designations.
- Environmental monitoring experience.
- Experience conducting boat electrofishing.
- Experience with ATV, UTV, and Argo operations.
- Demonstrated experience working with contractors in the capacity of environmental monitor or inspector.
- Demonstrated experience with environmental permit submissions in your region of employment.
- Experience working in isolated and remote areas.
- Ability to mentor and lead more junior team members.
- Ability to manage small to mid-sized projects and field teams.
