**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the senior editor, the editorial intern will provide administrative and editorial support to the Brand editorial group, icluding the Harlequin series, Harlequin Feature, Carina Press and Carina Adores imprints.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to observe and be involved in all stages of the publishing process and to establish relationships in each department. Our team publishes books from talented authors in most subgenres of romance, including contemporary, historical, paranormal, science fiction, fantasy and more. Our romances span across heat levels, featuring couples (or multiples) from all walks of life. Your responsibilities will include attending weekly team meetings, writing and editing back cover copy and other materials, communicating with our internal teams and with the author base.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assessing submissions and drafting reports/replies
- Writing/reviewing back cover copy
- Preparing and sending endorsement requests
- Inputting and managing metadata
- Soliciting and completing art fact sheets
- Liaising with marketing, production and subrights departments
- Uploading files to key trade review outlets and accepting/rejecting requests where applicable
- Other administrative duties as required

Qualifications:
The ideal editorial intern will have the following qualifications:

- Completion of university or college education, or possess equivalent/relevant work experience in publishing, communications or related field
- Publishing certificate an asset
- Interest in romance publishing and editorial
