As a Forestry Technician, you will be challenged with the strength and endurance required to work in the field under harsh environmental conditions to collect field data that varies depending on project/industry objectives. You will also be tasked with the responsibility of performing office duties in the form of data compilation, interpretation, and report writing. In this role, you will be given the guidance and tools to learn new skills and concepts to further your career objectives. You are the right fit for this position if you are open to learning multi-disciplinary skills in the natural resource industry.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- You exhibit superior leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills - You have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and desire to improve
- You have sound knowledge of the natural resource industry and development
- You enjoy the challenge of working outdoors in remote locations
- You have education and or experience in the field of natural resources
- Able to provide a Negative 12 Panel Drug and Alcohol test
- Able to provide a Drivers Abstract
Asset Qualifications:
- You have a degree or diploma in the natural resources field
- You are registered or enrolled as a member of a professional association within the natural resource industry
- You have a valid driver’s license
- You have previous supervisory experience in any field You have proficient computer skills
**Duties**:
- Field data collection including timber cruising, ecological site assessments, road layout, harvest boundary layout, silviculture data collection and assisting with other general environmental assessments.
**Salary**: $25 - $30 per hour & Overtime
