Join us in making a meaningful impact **Summary of Position** Reporting to the **Manager, Community Services** and the **Volunteer and Friendly Visiting Coordinator** you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills, and knowledge while gaining valuable experience working with older adults and people with disabilities. During your placement, you will complete several administrative tasks and projects, working with various departments in the organization. **Role and Responsibilities** - Assist with maintaining client waitlist for Friendly Visiting. - Assist with providing Friendly Visiting services to persons with disabilities in the community, through the Friendly Visiting program. - Support the administrative activities and delivery of service for Friendly visiting and Shop Assist Clients. - Participate with managing small caseload of friendly visiting clients including visits and calls. - Assist with planning future Friendly Visiting Volunteering training needs and social activities. - Support the Shop Assist and meal program as a backup delivery person as needed. - Support 2 key social programs: congregate dining activities and Wheels to Meals as needed. - Provide necessary documentation and feedback on clients served back to Coordinator. - Assist with program inquiries in absence of coordinator and provide necessary information as required. - Assist with planning and implementing outreach activities for the program throughout Halton Hills including but not limited to attending events and promotional opportunities. - Maintain contact with Coordinator, providing input on client needs or concerns. - Prepare printed client handbooks and packages as needed. - Participate in meetings as required. - Maintain positive relationships with internal and external network. - Other duties as assigned. **Summary of Required Skills** - Completed or enrolled in a post-secondary diploma or degree program. - Interested in learning and developing knowledge and skills valuable in in community services, gerontology, persons with disabilities, and/or support health services administration - Excellent written, oral and telephone communication. - Basic knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite, including Excel. - Organized, detail oriented, and collaborative. - Likes to take initiative to complete projects and make improvements. - Takes pride in completing work without errors and in a timely manner. - Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check prior to employment is required. - Employees who drive on behalf of Links2Care for work related purposes must possess and provide proof of a valid Ontario driver’s license and a minimum of $1,000,000 liability insurance on their vehicle. **Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal, Internship / Co-op Contract length: 8 weeks Pay: From $17.20 per hour **Benefits**: - Company events Flexible language requirement: - French not required Schedule: - Day shift - Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: - Georgetown, ON L7G 4B5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) **Education**: - Bachelor's Degree (preferred) **Location**: - Georgetown, ON L7G 4B5 (preferred) Work Location: In person Expected start date: 2025-06-02
