**Position Status**: Full-Time, Permanent
**The Organization**
Métis Crossing is Alberta’s first major Métis destination where we share and celebrate the Métis culture with all people With their unique designs that combine both traditional and contemporary Métis craftmanship, The Lodge and the Gathering Centre at Métis Crossing are special blends of comfort, culture, and Métis history. Directly adjacent to the Cultural Gathering Centre, our 40-room boutique Lodge offers scenic views overlooking the majestic North Saskatchewan River, the very route used by our Métis ancestors as they gathered here to trade. The Cultural Gathering Centre is the base for all our cultural and educational programs. The Lodge offers a Bistro for coffee and express breakfast, as well as a Lounge for cocktails and light snacks. Together they are an ideal location for corporate and government retreats as well as family gatherings.

**Key Responsibilities**
Métis Crossing promises to create legendary experiences that elevate the spirit and enrich lives of our guests. This position will be responsible to work with the Senior Leadership Team and all of Métis Crossing to build this organizational culture.
- Manage full cycle recruitment including job postings, screening, interviewing, reference checks, drafting employment contracts and conducting employee on-boarding.
- Implement employee/personnel programs, including skills development training and employee engagement programs.
- Manage employee records and ensure compliance.
- Stay abreast on compliance requirements and industry best practices; lead changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to remain in compliance; and adopt best practices where feasible.
- Promote engagement, commitment, and motivation of employees by developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative strategies to enhance productivity, morale, and culture.
- Consider employee and employer in decision making. Ensure human resources contribute to business vision, mission and goals.
- Contribute to annual departmental and organizational budget processes.
- Manage the annual performance review process. Support Métis Crossing leadership with employee performance review action plans to aid in enhanced employee performance.
- Engage in structured discussions with employees to encourage and improve individual employee performance and attain organizational objectives.
- Responsible for disability management.
- Serve as a link between leadership and employees by handling questions and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Participate in the recommendation of ethical solutions to the organization’s leadership by analyzing the variety of issues and options to ensure responsible corporate governance and manage risk. - Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, clients/customers, visitors, and other external stakeholders.
- Draft correspondence, reports, proposals, job descriptions, and other employment documentation.
- Oversee health and wellness initiatives

- Thorough understanding of human resources practices, theories, and policies.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable employment and health and safety legislation
- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills; demonstrated experience in conflict management.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize requests, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines and demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
- Knowledge of Alberta history and cultural diversity.
- Knowledge of Métis culture, history, and issues affecting Métis people.
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources
- Minimum seven years progressive Human Resources experience
