**Schedule**

This is a part-time position of 21hrs/week with the ability to pick up additional hours when necessary.

**Schedule**

  • Saturday: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Monday: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Tuesday**:1:00 pm to 9:00 pm

**Key Responsability**

  • Assist patrons with location of library material
  • Perform basic bibliographic searching
  • Respond to reference questions while at the reference desk
  • Answer basic directional questions related to library programs and services
  • Assist users with technology questions relating to their devices and our collection of digital resources
  • Aid in the creation of bibliographies, handouts and displays
  • Perform various technical tasks relating to the bibliographic data in our library catalogue
  • Supervise the library on nights and weekends in absence of more senior staff and be prepared to step in and assist clerks with difficult situations
  • Provide assistance to librarians in maintenance of collections of books, periodicals, newspapers, audiovisual and other materials including shelf reading
  • Help maintain the physical appearance of the libraryProvide basic troubleshooting and assistance with library equipment including printers, photocopiers, laptops
  • **Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Working knowledge of information services technology including the ability to use them
  • Internet and standard electronic reference resources.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Good problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent oral communication in both English and French.
  • Interest in Reader’s Advisory services and technology/social media
