**A little about the position**:
**Job Summary**
- Ensure the successful production activities of the Steel department. Manage a team of employees involved in the daily production of steel parts, and work to achieve the KPI’s for the department. Support a strong employee culture through the reinforcement of Latham’s Core Values._

**Some of What You Will Do**:

- _ Manage a team to ensure excellent efficiency, quality and safety results_
- _ Follow company safety policies and programs to promote a safety-first culture throughout the facility._
- _ Maintain high level of quality throughout the manufacturing process._
- _ Utilize lean manufacturing principles to identify efficiency opportunities and evaluate processes to achieve continuous improvement._
- _ Evaluate performance of staff, planning training and development as needed._
- _ Responsible for production, meeting daily schedule to ensure on time delivery._
- _ Submit reports on performance and progress to direct manager._
- _ Communicate job expectations, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees._
- _ Facilitate daily shift meetings._
- _ Other duties as assigned_

**What You Bring to the Table: (Qualifications)**
- _ Management or Technical college degree preferred._
- _ Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing/engineering related function_
- _ Previous experience working in a Steel production environment._
- _ Excellent computer skills (MS Office, ERP, ADP)_
- _ Ability to read blueprints_
- _ Must be able to work overtime when necessary, including extended hours or weekends_
- _ Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal_
- _ Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience desired_
- _ Exceptional understanding of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, employee relations_
